چکیده
This study presents the results of a Europe-wide training and Quality Control (QC) exercise carried out within framework European Aerobiology Society’s QC Working Group. The main aim this was to examine feasibility carrying for fungal spore monitoring in Europe, using similar methodology one previously used pollen. survey conducted two parts: (1) Coordinators national regional aerobiological networks Europe involved atmospheric spores were invited complete questionnaire related their network asked whether they interested taking part an external inter-laboratory exercise; (2) Participating performed ring test with same sample slide order determine reproducibility identifying counting taxa (Alternaria Epicoccum) air samples collected by Hirst-type volumetric trap. Participants instructed read five separate longitudinal transects “effective collecting area” slide. Reproducibility analysis determined following method exercises Thirty-two counters from 16 or participated exercise. Coefficients Variation (CV%) ranged 23.0 22.5 when reading transect 14.0 16.0 Alternaria Epicoccum, respectively. Considering CV% 30 as limit spores, no significant differences observed between absolute errors two, three, four transects. only difference We recommend that should be on about 5% (two study) because not significantly different

An evaluation of two methods used for microscopic analysis of airborne fungal spore concentrations from the Burkard Spore Trap
The Burkard Volumetric Spore Trap is a common and efficient instrument used to collect outdoor air samples. In North America, two slide counting methods have been widely used by aerobiologists: the single longitudinal traverse method and the twelve transverse traverse method. The purpose of this study was to compare the two counting methods by assessing fungal spore concentrations of ascospores...
متن کاملA comparative study of hourly and daily relationships between selected meteorological parameters and airborne fungal spore composition
Air sampling was conducted in Szczecin (Poland) throughout April-September 2013. The final data set included 177 daily and 4248 hourly samples. The total of 21 types of spores, which occurred in a number >10 in the season, were taken into account. The following meteorological parameters were analyzed: air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation and wind speed. Effects of individual weathe...
متن کاملPreliminary studies on the effect of the Burkard alternate orifice on airborne fungal spore concentrations
The Burkard 7-day spore trap with standard orifice is commonly used by researchers in sampling outdoor air. The alternate orifice is reported to have higher efficiency in collecting small airborne fungal spores; however, no previous studies compared Burkard samplers with different orifices. This study was conducted to study the effect of the alternate orifice on the concentration of airborne fu...
متن کاملGamma, Gaussian and logistic distribution models for airborne pollen grains and fungal spore season dynamics
The characteristics of a pollen season, such as timing and magnitude, depend on a number of factors such as the biology of the plant and environmental conditions. The main aim of this study was to develop mathematical models that explain dynamics in atmospheric concentrations of pollen and fungal spores recorded in Rzeszów (SE Poland) in 2000-2002. Plant taxa with different characteristics in t...
متن کاملAnalyst Monitoring and Managerial Incentives
In this paper, we investigate whether an increase in analyst monitoring, which improves the informational efficiency of stock prices, necessarily translates into firms’ managers taking more value-enhancing decisions (“real efficiency”). We show that when the manager’s compensation is tied to stock prices, then an increase in analyst monitoring weakens managerial incentives by making the firm’s ...
